The Guardians Of Andromeda was the musical brainchild of myself back in 2006. This was my first venture into writing the kind of music and lyrics that I was being heavily influenced by at the time and by combining that with my love of epic fantasy, The Light Years From Destiny ep was born.

After recruiting in musicians Matthew Speed (Rekovered) and Danny B (Criminal, Takoma Star) to help rerecord my original demo playing on the various parts and aid in the production side of things, The Ep was completed in 2007 and self released.

A few small shows followed with the aid of Alexandra Kitchin on keyboards, Paul Martin (Brainchoke, Cerebral Assassins, Infected Disarray) and Zac O’neil (Criminal, The Agonyst, Extreme Noise Terror)

After the release of the Ep, i found the writing bug still had hold and more songs were venturing out of me into the world. So I started to consider the original Ep more of a demo and began work on making my first full album.

I once again recruited My faithful brother in crime Matthew Speed, Followed by my good friend and muso Ed Osbourne who aided me with some musical contributions and once again rerecording my initial demo tracks. We got in long time friend and drum beast Matt Alston (Machine head, Sanctorum, Devilment) to rerecord my drum parts and then the decision was made to look for a singer so I can take up bass duties for when we played live. We discovered through recommendations, Paul Clarke who was at the time singing for the band Snake Eyes. After a meeting with Paul and hearing his voice, we knew he was perfect for the album. Paul joined the ranks and the full lineup of Guardians was formed for Light Years From Destiny which was released in 2010. Sadly Paul was not with us for long due to commitments at home and parted company with us only after a few shows. I then took the decision to go back to vocals and we drafted in Stephen Brine (Intense) to play with us for the upcoming shows which featured Bloodstock and Hammerfest.

I began writing material for a follow up album, aimed at being a concept album where i could really take the material further as my writing style had begin to morph into something more mature and progressive. Demo’s for the album were written and recorded, but due to the sometimes inevitable challenges of life, Guardians had to be put on hiatus whilst its members got on with treading their own paths. There are plans to pick up where we left off, get the material recorded properly for release, but with no plans for live performances. Updates will be made as and when there is progress and news to report
